terror plots

What have we learned between 9/11 and today….NOTHING, absolutely nothing.

I don’t usually post political garbage on this site, but I really feel strongly about this topic.

After 9/11, we wanted the government(US) to keep us safe, and that is something they can work towards doing. But 6 months to a year down the line, regular citizens were saying that they didn’t like their personal freedoms imposed. They didn’t want the government “spying” on them. We have alot of “freedoms” in this country , and no one wants to give up anything.

The problem is, that if we don’t give up some of our “rights” how in the world is the government going to be able to do their job. We say one thing and then we don’t allow something to be done about it. If you want to be safe, you had better be willing to give up some freedoms…and you had best stop whining about it. We have the ability to make our country safe. After 9/11, we even had the head of the Israeli (I am not going to discuss anything about the current war) air security come to the US and give us a list of things that would make us more secure…did we follow it? NO. We have to wake up and realize that security, requires government officials to be more strict and we will have to give up our lighters, our scissors and other things that can be used as a weapon.

What ever happened to scanning luggage for explosives? There were lots of ideas out there…and almost none have been worked through. Ethnic Profiling? What ever happened to pulling those people out of line and looking over their luggage, carry ons and other personal items? Well, that would mean giving up more of our freedoms.

When you go to the bank and you are required to show ID, do you feel like your money is safe? When you go to buy something at a store and the clerk checks to make sure you are the one using your credit card, do you feel like you are being infringed upon? Or do you feel like you are being kept safe? When I go to the bank, the tellers want my ID, and I thank them. When I go to the store and they want my card, I thank them. So why is being asked to make sure that you are who you say you are when you get on a plane any different…I say it isn’t. Why should you feel infringed upon when the airport security officials want to look through your luggage? You shouldn’t.

Think about it this way…There are 200+ people on a plane, four of those people have a bomb or pieces of one, wouldn’t you want to know? Wouldn’t you want the security officials to check, even if they only catch one of the 4, the plane will grounded and everyone will be scrutinized…I bet you will not be arguing then.

WE NEED TO WAKE UP! PEOPLE ARE OUT THERE AND THEY WANT TO HURT US. WE NEED TO GET A GRIP, OR WE WILL END UP LOSING MORE LIVES

Please, keep comments clean.Make comments if you wish. I will read them, but I may or may not reply to them.
