~ Bruno ~

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

My second foster, Bruno, has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Bruno lived with me for 3 1/5 years. We found out 3 months ago that he had cancer, and put him on some medication that would give him a little more time. But this morning it became obvious that he was failing. So, this morning, I said goodbye to my “old man”

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

update of sorts…

a friend asked me about my cats, this was my reply…(which he suggested I post)

Well…

Socks and Bruno are in trouble. When the mom cats and their babies came,
Socks and Bruno started spraying…so they get to go onto the porch and into
the basement. Abby is being as approachable as always…which is never.
Blackies asthma is a little better, but he will need an inhaler soon. Dexter is
being Dex. Bonnie is now a big cat, not a kitten anymore, but she will
always be my baby and she still comes up to me to cuddle like she used to
when she was little. She still loves to hog the computer. Tammi is doing
good. Duke is a pig, stealing everyone’s food. Princess is being bossy, but
also good. Toughie had problems with her mouth…again, but they gave her a
shot and it cleared it up. Duchess is happy, she didn’t play at all when her
kittens were here, but they left and after a couple days she is playing more
like a kitten than they did. Macy is still feral. Samantha is still having
trouble with her bladder. She has a broken tail and spinal damage, she cant
pee basically, without medicine. Tinkerbell is getting fat, Mama cat is
still annoying, Dee is getting fat too. Melina is doing great, Gracy is
coming along, still a little shy, but getting better. McKenzie is doing
good, she is not happy with some of the downstairs cats but gets along good
with Socks and Bruno. She has also learned how to open the door to her cage,
so I often find her wandering around the basement. Layla is doing her best
to hate all the other cats in the house, and monopolize all human
attention..

lol…you asked

Pain in the…

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

I have had some pretty bad days lately. Migraines are a pain…but hopefully we will have some sort of answer to why I am getting them. I am keeping my fingers crossed…

Anyways. New arrival at the house is McKenzie, she is an FIV+, very friendly girl

Blade

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Blade was a beautiful medium hair Russian Blue. Such a smart cat, he knew what he wanted and didn’t let anything stand in his way…not even the basement door. I will remember him, for so many reasons. He was a beautiful boy, loved to talk, loved attention, but very reserved. He would watch things happen before he joined in. Blade was adopted about 2 months ago but about a week ago, he became ill, and was not able to pull through.

Blade, I hope that you have found some of your kitty friends, your humans miss you, and we cant wait for the time we get to play with you again.

My excuse

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I was asked recently, why I have been working on the same blanket for so long.

Well, the answer is…Bonnie

I have a difficult time keeping her from playing with the yarn. I decided that I would try to crochet tonight, Bonnie was sleeping on my computer…but the moment the bag showed up, she woke up and I was able to get this picture.

It’s a kitten Christmas

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

Bonnie has brought more than her fair share of entertainment to this holiday season. Watching her investigate the new smells and new “play toys” on the tree, has brought alot of excitement.

And she always looks so innocent!
