Song…

March 19th, 2010

I have this song stuck in my head, seems like the other day, every time I got in the car it was on the radio…now I just cant forget it.

Lee Brice, Love Like Crazy

They called them crazy when they started out
Said seventeen’s too young to know what loves about
They’ve been together fifty-eight years now
That’s crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little 2 bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Yea that’s crazy

Just ask him how he did it; he’ll say pull up a seat
It’ll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I Love You
Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common since
Never let your prayin’ knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy they’ll never take off
He sold his one man shop to Microsoft
They paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He’ll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman,
Who never let him forget

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I Love You
Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common since
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get to old to call her baby
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They’ve been together fifty-eight years now

Aint that crazy?

Now I’ve just got to figure out if it is just a faerie tale or not…

Changes

March 18th, 2010

So, things have changed in my life (Divorced)…change can be very unsettling, and for the most part things have gone very well (kids have adjusted well). In other ways things are still a struggle(job hunt). I sometimes question my judgment about things and feel like I should flip a coin and let things happen as they may.

I plan to take a trip to the shore in a few days, I need a day to sit, reflect, think…clear some cobwebs out and let the sunshine, and salt air in, recharge batteries. I will leave my old life behind and let my new one start.

New Beginnings

March 17th, 2010

you dont know how much you miss something till it is gone…and I am very happy this is now back. So much has changed in the last year, things I didnt want to talk about online, still dont to some extent, but I dont have to worry about as much now.

Spring has almost sprung and my new life is starting as well.

thank you David

Visitors

July 27th, 2009

This is milkweed…

I left this pretty ugly plant grow, in hopes that I would have a very special group of visitors. Today, I checked and was very happy to find this little visitor.

This little guy is a monarch caterpillar, hopefully he (or she) will grow into a beautiful butterfly before too long.

All grown up!

CT Tornado 2009

June 27th, 2009

Yesterday was scary…to say the least. Around 4pm the sky became black and hail, just short of golf ball size started pounding the roof. Power went out several times before giving up completely. Around the neighborhood, several large trees lost limbs, or just plain lost to the power of the storm. It is thought that we took micro bursts around my house, but nearby, it is now confirmed that a tornado did hit.

A powerful storm with winds gusting to 85-100 mph roared through Wethersfield Friday afternoon and left the historic section of town covered with downed trees and power lines. This antique home, at the corner of Church and Garden streets, was split in two by a massive tree that had been uprooted by the storm. In photo, the homeowners, at left, get hugs from neighbors. (STEPHEN DUNN / HARTFORD COURANT / June 26, 2009)

We were really lucky, we lost power for about 8 hours. There are a few houses nearby that have no power still and a few cars that are in need of visits from the insurance companies (one right around the corner from the house). Thankfully we dont get this sort of weather often…

Rain, Rain, go away

June 21st, 2009

come back after we have had plenty of time to dry out.

It has now rained something like the last 18 of 21 days in June. Of course, when the sun does come out, the lawn will need to be hayed.
