This is milkweed…

I left this pretty ugly plant grow, in hopes that I would have a very special group of visitors. Today, I checked and was very happy to find this little visitor.

This little guy is a monarch caterpillar, hopefully he (or she) will grow into a beautiful butterfly before too long.

Thursday Thirteen

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

It has been a slow week here, so I havent anything really exciting.

1. Eldest is away at Girls Camp till tomorrow,

2. Youngest is just enjoying the “dont have to share” time that he has.

3. I havent slept normally in a while and it seems to be getting worse.

4. I really have to get the kitties their dry food…I have put that off for over a week

5. Youngest and I have started reading a Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone together.

6. OK, I am reading it to him, at least he is now old enough to understand it.

7. I have figured out that there is literally nothing on TV…

8. I did figure out the Dragonscale necklace…

9. I made a new anklet…

10. My Youngest and I went to the park tonight, just to get out.

11. I turned off the AC, this evening

12. and opened the windows :)

13. and I am so happy that everyone is asleep and the house is quiet.

beautiful day

Sunday, August 6th, 2006

This is a beautiful day! It is about 7pm, the sun is still in the sky but not shining on me, the yard is empty (no, really…no loud obnoxious kids) and I am sitting here at the patio table listening to my pond and watering the garden. What a great day…now hopefully the playground will not become inhabited.

2. The Cronicles of Narnia. I just love this movie, thankfully so do the kids

3. National Treasure. Good movie, lots of action

4. Chicken Little. I didnt think I would like this movie as much as I do.

5. Rescue Heros, the movie. Well, my youngest likes it.

6. The Series of Unfortunate Events. My Eldest and I have read most of the books and really love the movie

7. Dreamer. I love horse movies. I cant, however watch the horses getting injured…but once that is over the rest of the movie is great

8. Madagascar. Cool Characters

9. Lilo and Stitch. pretty good movie, Stitch is great

10. Monsters Inc. We dont watch this one all the time, but it is one of our favorites

11. The Incredibles. good movie

12.Treasure Planet. My Youngest really loves this movie.

13. Finding Nemo. I like nemo, a cool little fish.

Now I really like The Lord of the Rings (any of the three). My Eldest usually watches with me, but as I dont think it is appropriate for the Youngest…we dont watch them often.

Lewis the cat~sentenced to inside life

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

The story…

“To the delight of animal lovers who traveled to Bridgeport Superior Court from as far away as Utah and Florida, Superior Court Judge Patrick Carroll III declined Tuesday to order Lewis, the celebrity serial-scratching cat, euthanized.

Instead, he placed owner Ruth Cisero in a program that will erase a reckless endangerment charge if she completes two years probation and 50 hours of community service.

Under the terms of that probation, Lewis must abide by a previous restraining order that prevents him from leaving Cisero’s Fairfield home. If he does, the charge against Cisero will be reinstated. She could face up to six months in prison, and Lewis could again face death.

“There are no exceptions,” Carroll warned. “None.”

Click Here for the whole story.

Lewis the cat, the “attack cat” from Connecticut, has been spared being put to sleep…but he does have to stay inside. I think that the owner really should have known to do this, when she first heard of her cats antics. I do believe that she should be held accountable. She has said that she has tried “kitty prozac” but if she knew that the attacks were happening she should have kept him inside. Lots of cats are inside cats, and though some escape (like my Socks) every once and a while, it isnt really that difficult to keep control over them. I dont blame Socks for getting out. If he gets out, someone left the door open or gave him the opportunity to get out the door. That would be our fault. If Lewis gets out, then, as the judge states, the owner will be held accountable.

Today is going to be a difficult one…

My daughter and I will be taking Blackie to a fair where the shelter, that we are fostering him from, will have an adoption drive. You might remember Blackie…

…in his role as “The Thing Under the Rug”. I am going to spend a little time with him in a few, just playing. I will miss him, but he needs to have a forever home, with a Mom and/or Dad that loves him. I hope that he finds someone to love him. He is such a sweet boy. I am going to miss my big fluffy boy.
