I have had one interview…another one tomorrow… and hopefully I will have a new job soon.

and snowed and snowed and just for good measure…it is snowing.

This is a record breaking year, according to the people who keep track of those sorts of things. All I know is that we literally have more snow than places to put it. I have taken to shoveling a snow bank, just to put more snow in that space. I like summer and warm more than cold and yucky, this is not making it any easier.

Ok, enough of the little mini rant…

well, its been here for about 10 hours, and we have about a foot of snow with drifts of about 2 foot….and its not done yet. The wind is really blowing outside, which doesnt help with the drifts. I am kinda wondering if I will even get to the cars or if they will be one huge drift…pictures will be taken in the morning…

er…my eldest has my camera so I didnt get to take pictures

last night it got down to 9F with a wind chill of -3F. During the day it only got up to about 19F. And tonight will be about 10F…I am cold.

I havent had 2 minutes to myself in days…and I am about to get out of here again and go to work. Granted, today, I have to leave about an hour earlier because of the weather. Thankfully, the temps went above freezing, so the roads shouldn’t be to bad. Either way. I have another 9 hour day today and one tomorrow as well…now I just wish the pay was better, but I will not complain to loudly, at least I have a job.

Just as a side note…anyone who has Dave Mathews Band posters, and you want to get them framed…please take them out of those rolls, and put them somewhere flat for a bit. It will make a whole lot of framers so much happier when we are trying to put them in their frames.

and I have to be at work in 8 hours…just sayin

…Good expensive shoes.

Today, I was splitting wood, and the ax went straight through the log, like butter and I hit my foot…or more specifically, my big toe. Without the shoes I was wearing, I am pretty sure I would have needed to visit the hospital. As it is, my toe turned purple almost immediately and hurts like crazy. I don’t have any cuts, neither do the shoes…but I can see exactly where the ax hit my toe, and there is a slight mark on the shoes. I can only imagine the damage that would have been done had I been wearing a cheap pair of sneakers.

Oh, then to add insult to injury, literally, I dropped wood on my foot…if it wasnt broken before, it is now. I just hope I can sleep, I have to work tomorrow, 8 hours, on my feet…

with the exception of a few last minute little things, which I am going to buy at work on our double discount day, my Christmas shopping is DONE!!! We finished up today, the kids were able to figure out what they wanted, so that is that. Granted they know what they are getting, but they are pleased with their selections. Now we all get to wrap each others presents in odd sized boxes…we play “guess whats in the box” for Christmas morning. And as we just moved we have a whole lot of boxes of all sorts of shapes and sizes… under the tree with be quite full of presents

I survived working Black Friday, Saturday (which was just as bad), Sunday and Monday… and I am tired. Overall it wasn’t to bad through, I will be happy when this season is over and things resume some sense of normality. I do dread going into other stores. What is it about this time of year that brings out the not-so-nice in people? Working retail again after so many years, I unfortunately get to experience this, and I really don’t care for it.

Having said that, I did have a customer yesterday, that was in a great mood. She said that one of my co-workers had been so kind and patient, so she felt compelled to be patient and kind. It was refreshing to have someone saying nice things, smiling and generally in a great mood. I can only hope that there are more people out there like that….unfortunately, I fear that will not be the case.
