Socks adopted my family this past summer and after giving his previous owners a chance to reclaim him, I had to take him to the vet for an absess on his hip. That is when I found out. I have to admit that I felt like the vet-tech had slapped me when she first said it. But after reading aobut the disease and talking with my vet, I came to understand that it wasnt as bad as it sounded.
