blizzard of 2010

its here.

well, its been here for about 10 hours, and we have about a foot of snow with drifts of about 2 foot….and its not done yet. The wind is really blowing outside, which doesnt help with the drifts. I am kinda wondering if I will even get to the cars or if they will be one huge drift…pictures will be taken in the morning…

er…my eldest has my camera so I didnt get to take pictures

Scientists have established a link between the colder winter being experienced in the U.K and the melting of the Arctic Sea Ice. An analysis of the ice free regions of the Arctic Ocean has found that the higher temperatures experienced due to climate change may paradoxically mean that the northern hemisphere has increased the chances of colder winters in the years to come.

I agree…but you must also remember that overall, this is absolutely normal for this region at this time of year. In fact…we have had a reasonably warm winter till about 2 weeks ago. and snow will mean that it will not be as cold. We also have periodic blizzards, the last being in 1980. I am not in the UK or even Europe, so I do not know what “normal” is for that region, so I can not speak for the weather that they are having over there. Other than that, we will all have to see what happens. thank you for your comment.
