2996 - tribute to 9/11 Victims
I came accross this site while blogging about a week ago, and just knew I had to take part. At this site you can help to remember one person that died on that horrible day in September. I am going to put a post describing what this blogger is attempting to do.

I hate that the limited resources of my brain are clogged with names like Bundy, Manson, Columbine and Al-Qaeda, but I almost never hear the names of their victims.
I hope that by having 2,996 of us write a tribute to these people that we will each learn about our victims. We will burn into our own brains the details of their lives and come to know more about them than we do about the monsters who took their lives. I can say that after doing my own research I will never forget the name of my victim.
I think of this a little bit like a giant wake, where we celebrate their lives and not the circumstances of their unfortunate deaths.
By taking the time and energy to remember them we can keep them alive in our own memories. We can keep them alive for as long as we refuse to forget them.
If you would like to honor a victim of that horrible day, Please visit 2996. Only 25% of the victims have sponsors, there are still so many names of the list. I am honoring and remembering:
Daniela R. Notaro
25, of New York, N.Y.
At World Trade Center
I dont think I knew anyone who died that tragic day, but I live close enough that I could smell the smoke from the WTC. I will always remember the day the Towers fell.

I signed up too … and have tons of info about my young woman. I’ve even offered to do another person if enough people don’t sign up by 9/11.
I hope that more people sign up too. We are a people who are quick to forget, but also quick to judge when something goes wrong. I think that if we all remember and are weary, we will be safer

I was awakened by my hubby who works in govt. and from AK I woke my then 5 year old up and we watched as the second plane went through the building for the first time - when on live television the newscaster used the “F” word before they cut that part out - and I didn’t blame him one bit, as I was saying exactly the same thing.
It was a life changing day for me.
Thanks for remembering it. I now understand people who used to talk about WW2 and the Depression as if it were yesterday.
I was home, my son was only a year old. I also turned on the TV in time to see the second plane…then I watched in horror as the towers fell.
