New Dinosaur Discovered

- Largest-known meat-eating dinosaur discovered by Canadian paleontologist
EDMONTON (CP) - One hundred million years ago, in what is now Argentina, a carnivore larger than Tyrannosaurus rex used its scissor-like teeth to hunt some of the biggest dinosaurs that ever lived.
Mapusaurus roseae is thought to have weighed six tonnes and reached 12 to 13 metres in length at maturity. That’s longer than most city buses.
The new dinosaur is one of a group of gigantic carnivores that includes the Giganotosaurus, which previously trumped the T. rex as the largest known meat-eater.

I called my daughter when I saw this story on the news tonight. She was so excited, and hopes that someday she can be part of a group that discovers a new dinosaur.
